Events

Each year AVA organizes a variety of events to raise awareness about and support for AVA's valuable services. We also hold events specifically tailored to promote healing among survivors of crime and their families.

Join us for a special event on April 26!

This year we celebrate a milestone anniversary: 40 years! To commemorate our four decades of impact, AND to recognized National Crime Victims’ Rights Week which is April 21-27, we invite you to a special performance at Carver High School on Friday, April 26 from 6-8 p.m. for a series of theater performances created in partnership with Atlanta Public Schools and Carver STEAM Academy. These performances will prompt us to consider the options, services, and hope we can offer crime victims and their loved ones.

The event is free but space is limited so get your ticket today!

5K in October (date TBD)

This October, AVA will host a 5K run/walk in the City of Atlanta to celebrate our 40th anniversary! Check back as more details will be posted in the upcoming months.

Community Vigils

Each December we hold a heartwarming Celebration of Life Candlelight Vigil, honoring victims and their families.

We invite you to attend this impactful event, stand in solidarity with survivors, and contribute to creating a safer, more compassionate Atlanta for all. More details will be posted in the coming months.

Support Groups

We facilitate homicide support groups to help grieving family members cope with the loss of a loved one due to crime. Loss is a deeply personal experience and in some cases when no arrest is made or the perpetrator isn’t identified, loved ones can experience long-lasting grief with no sense of closure. For many, these groups provide a source of comfort and healing for months and even years. Contact us for more information.
