| VOLUNTEER and INTERN ALERT WE NEED YOUR HELP! AVA utilizes volunteers and interns from many different backgrounds to reinforce our staff capacity and improve service delivery to victims. Some of our volunteers are past victims who want to give back; others are retired men and women; young people who want work experience and anyone interested in a fulfilling endeavor. Our interns come to us from numerous universities. The hours they spend at AVA go toward class credit Volunteers are asked to work at least 10 hours per week. Each new recruit will receive 40 hours of comprehensive training. Afterwards they will provide the following services:
Interns are also asked to work at least 10 hours per week. Each intern will be assigned an advocate who he/she will accompany throughout the day. This will include courtroom, zone, and office settings. Both Volunteer and Intern will be required to:
